ECG of the Week - 13th Feb 2012

The following 2 ECGs are of an 88yr old male.




The initial ECG is below and was performed during an episode of chest pain:

The patient was then transferred to another hospital to facilitate further management.

On arrival he was painfree and his repeat ECG is below:

Comment on ECG findings and consider clinical relevance and management.

  1. ECG 1 Anteroseptal ST elevation with reciprical inferolateral changes. Q waves V1 - V3 ? old or new. Left axis deviation.
    Dx Anteroseptal MI.

    ECG 2 Decrease in ST elevation and ST depression. Could this be just because of treatment given or is it resolving changes?
