ECG of the Week - 23rd April 2012 - Interpretation


This weeks ECG is from a 32 yr old male.

Rate:

  • 66

Rhythm:
  • Sinus Rhythm
  • Sinus Arrhythmia
  • Premature junctional complex (2nd complex)
Axis
  • Normal / Inferior (~85 deg)
Intervals:
 
  • PR - Normal (~160ms)
  • QRS - Normal (80-100ms)
  • QT - 320-360ms 
Segments:
  • ST Elevation II, V2-5, ? aVF
Additional:
  • Voltage Criteria LVH (S wave V1 + R wave V5 or V6 > 35mm)
  • Small Q waves II, III, aVF, V4-6
Interpretation:
  • LVH - secondary ST segment changes

LVH in Young Patients
  • Athletic Heart
  • Cardiomyopathy
  • Valvular Disease
  • Congential abnormalities
