ECG of the Week - 29th October 2018 - Interpretation

This ECG is from an 81 yr old female who presented complaining of intermittent chest pain and dysponea. She has a history of T2DM, hypertension and asthma.

Rate:
  • Ventricular rate 48 bpm
  • Atrial rate 94 bpm
Rhythm:
  • 2 : 1 AV Block
Axis:
  • LAD
Intervals:
  • PR - Normal when associated with QRS
  • QRS - Prolonged (130ms)
Additional:
  • Voltage criteria LVH aVL >11m

Interpretation:

  • 2:1 AV Block

What happened ?

The patient was admitted and underwent an uneventful PPM insertion.
