ECG of the Week - 25th June 2018 - Interpretation

This ECG is from a 27yr old female who presents with a 10 day history of intermittent palpitations. She is normally fit and well with no known medical issues.

Rate:
  • 72 bpm
Rhythm:
  • Regular
  • Sinus rhythm
Axis:
  • Normal (-33 deg)
Intervals:
  • PR - Short (~115ms)
  • QRS - Prolonged (110ms)
  • QT - 380ms (QTc Bazette 400 ms)
Additional:
  • T inversion lead III
  • Delta wave best seen leads II, III, V5-6
Interpretation:
  • Pre-excitation
 The ECG in palpitations

What happened ?

The patient had a normal echo and was referred for electrophysiology review and follow-up.
